Here you will find a list of the little gadgets we use live and on studio to get the domestic fool sound... it is very basic, but still, is always good to share the tips.

DRUMS:

Mako is currently playing on rehearsals and live shows the same kit he got when he was really really young... it is a good kit, it has no brand but it sounds really good, let's say is a vintage kit... five piece standard set up.

12" 13" 16" Toms, 14" Snare, 22" Bass Drum, the depth of the shells is not standard they're a bit smaller than usual, except for the floor tom. In the studio he uses a Pearl Prestige Series: 12" 14" 16" Toms, 14" Snare, 22" Bass Drum, now this are the large shells, gives it a lot of depth.

On cymbals, for live shows and rehearsals Mako uses: 10" A Custom Splash, 13" KZ Hats, 16" K Dark Crash, 18" Z Custom Crash, 22" Mega Bell Ride, 18" AA Chinese. In the studio the setup is almost the same except for the 16" and 18" crashes, they are replaced by the new Sabian Paragon Cymbals, also the hats, depending on the song, get switched to a pair of 14" A Custom, but also, according to the song Mako mixes up the cymbals 18" with 18" or two 16" or just swap them, he also has a smaller bell ride, 20" Scimitar that has a dry sound, not your typical Scimitar.

GUITAR:

René on rehearsals is using a LANEY GC-120 double speaker amp. going through the amps distortion which sounds very clean and almost tube like, has a lot of body and tone, yet crunchy but not fuzzy, giving it a clean sound.

For the recording process the band used the LANEY with a Gibson Epiphone type Les Paul, and a Fender Strat. on different parts of songs and for overdubs. The other amp that was used was a SMARVO 100 Watt head, with SMARVO 4 speaker cabinet, this gave it the tube warmth that is so beloved by the band. On this amp the Gibson didn't quite sound as desired, but the Fender strat gave it the touch it needed.

BASS:

Ignacio is currently using his Fender Jazz Bass, 4 string going throuhg an Ampeg combo for rehearsal and some small live shows, he is also using for the recording session and larger venues an AMPEG 500Watt Head with sub woofer cabinet and for speaker cabinet on top.
